Viewing Post for: Women's House Building 2017
Date: Wednesday, March 1
Location: Lake Eyasi, Girls Vocational School
We arrived at our building site to our tent being blown down in the wind last night. Wow! We worked hard. The picture is Christina and her son in her old house. We worked on her new one today. We painted the first house, primed the second and laid the rest of the foundation on the third. That entails putting rocks in the ditch we dug, mixing sand we dug with water as mortar and piling up the foundation. By we, I mean, the locals constantly and us to varying degrees of tiredness. We break at Ugi or porridge time and chai we made with our lovely lady friends over a fire. It is taken under the big Acacia tree. A finer Starbucks not to be found. Afternoon we got to go to the girls school. We will tell you more about this school later. Today, we go measured for them to make us dresses, shirts & made plans to learn Swahili and work them on the computers we brought by donation. But, the highlight was a very aggressive game of net ball where 14 year old girls ran me ragged, slammed into me, stole my ball and were fantastic. Currently under the moon by the fire with a wine. End of great day in Africa.

Held you in prayer the other night. Hope you are all well. Photos are amazing. Are you sure you didn't fly around the world once and land at a theme park in Florida? God Bless You Charlie

dear girl, we had a lovely time at Max's for dinner and then on to the St. Petersburg Philharmonic which was a singular event at Kodak Hall. The standing ovations were longer than any I have ever heard and well deserved. Incredible. Weather in the 60's, and all is well. Helen and I will be going to GEVA on Sunday. We trust you are having the time of your life and will be bringing home memories for a lifetime. We love you so, Mary and Paul and Helen
