Viewing Post for: Kilimanjaro Climb 2015
Date: Wednesday, February 18 Last Post from Tanzania
Location: Karatu, Tanzania
Last night was some some serious dancing and celebrating with the Porters
Today....
Elephants everywhere!
We saw so many elephants today. Went to Tarangire National Park for Safari.
First we stopped to visit the acre of land www.journeysofsolutions.org bought to build houses on for the porters. We just bought the land. Next May some of the past climbers and others are coming over for Raising Voices, Raising Roofs project. We will be building the houses for some of our porters, making music and immersing ourselves in Africa. See the PPS adventures for more information on this. We will be having concerts starting in summer to help raise the funds to work on the houses. Very exciting.
Then we went on Safari. So many animals. Especially elephants. People were in awe.
Tomorrow more spectacular safari.
On Friday we will be visiting orphanages and schools we support, going to the local market, visiting Massai women who bead and taking the last few to the airport. Not sure if we will have time for a goat roast.
This is our last post. Thanks, asante sana, for sharing our adventure. Starting Monday you are welcome to follow us from Ethiopia on a trek and exploring ancient civilizations there.
Handle your climbers with care when they get home. They are tired.
