Viewing Post for: Everest Base Camp 2014
Date: Tuesday, October 27
Location: Lukla! End of the road!
Hard to believe that the circle has closed. On the way up we took
pictures of everything. Now, most of our cameras are in our packs. We
still gaze in wonder but dont have the same ned to photograph.
Last night we had all our Nepal staff sit and we served them tea to
honor all their service.
Today we shower, stay in a lodge and go bakerying again. We will have a
celebration. Buy local chang and raksi and share one last night with
our Nepali companions we have come to appreciate so much.
Lessons learned:
- Yaks have the right of way.
- Carry your own toilet paper.
- Don't lose your place in shower queue.
- Enjoy the journey.
- Don't brush against the frost on the inside the tent when getting up.
- Pepto bismo is your friend.
- World series is irrelevant. (Some dissension on this one)
- The kids here are way cute.
- Apple pie does not age as well as cheese and wine.
- Oxygen is overrated.
