DESCRIPTION:

Journey to the beautiful Maine coast off of Deer Isle. We start at the classic fishing community of Stonington. After the first night of lobster at a campground, we head to a secluded beach to put in. Our destination each day will depend on the weather. In general we will paddle a minimum of 2 hours. We will base camp off of several enchanted islands working our way out to the National Park and Island community on Isle Au Haut. Most of the paddling is pretty protected but there are several 1 to 2 mile crossings. The experience is designed with an attitude of discovery, not a point A to B mentality. There are many islands to stop on and explore and hike. We can swim in quarries, investigate tidepools and discover the unique geography as we go. Some kayak experience is ideal. We can arrange to help you get that if you do not already have it prior to going.
