DESCRIPTION:
Early fall in the Desert! Here is your chance to head to the warmth of the magnificent Grand Canyon! This trip is a combination the local history, native American history past and present and the spectacular chasm. You will start off your journey in the Grand Canyon itself - hike over the edge and into its depth. We will be based in the Marble Canyon Area and explore from here. We will head out to explore Cathedral Wash your first hike and opportunity to wiggle your toes in the infamous Colorado River . An exquisite hike through sculpted red rock offering amazing scenery , and spectacular photographic opportunities. Next day we will visit Lake Mead in Nearby Page and then take a hike through the remarkable Antelope Canyon on The Navajo Reservation. Time now to head to Flagstaff for 2 nights. We will do some day hiking in the Red Rock and Sedona areas. At night you will be housed downtown in cottages/ houses in downtown Flagstaff. The next part of the adventure moves us onto the Havasupai Indian Reservation . We will hike down into the famous Havasupai Indian Reservation. It is a 6 hour walk into the village. You will be lodged at the local Havasupaii Lodge. We will visit the very famous Havasu Falls with its turquoise colored waters and its magnificent waterfalls. Learn about and be apart of Havasu culture as it was and is today! The last part of the trip finds us exploring the classic “back to the 50’s” town of Seligman as we make our way back towards Las Vegas. Get a glimpse at what life was in this hopping town in the 1950’s as it is still today!
